Best Discounted Experience Passes for Southern California

Whether your family is looking to try new things, trying to find deals on tickets, or want to give the gift of experiences instead of stuff, these are the best options for passes. We’ll review these passes in the context of Southern California, but they are available in cities all over the United States.

There are a lot of good reasons to get one of these passes. If there’s a specific attraction that you’ve been wanting to go to, but the price was too expensive, then you might just find discounted ticket on their platform. If you’re looking to try something new and unique, you’ll often find events and places you’ve never heard of before right in your own city. And if you’re looking for a great gift for your kids or family members, instead of buying more stuff they don’t need, you could buy an experience that they’ll remember.

Discounted Single-Attraction Passes

These websites let you browse difference experiences that are available and purchase them at a discounted price.

Groupon

You’re likely already familiar with Groupon, which lets you find products and services for a discounted rate. There are a lot of family-friendly experiences that we’ve found on Groupon in Los Angeles and Orange County, including museums, boat tours, trampoline parks, and theme parks.

Tripadvisor / Viator

You probably know Tripadvisor as the website that helps you find popular attractions in a city, with ratings and reviews from people who have visited. They also have a lot of experience tickets available. You’ll mostly find tickets for tours and activities, but there are a few museums and amusement parks in there. Viator is owned by Tripadvisor, and has an identical website experience.

Fever

Fever is more known for being a platform with unique, limited-time experiences. Through the platform, we’ve found tickets to immersive walk-through installations and seasonal activities like pumpkin patches. They also have tickets to tours and activities, some theme parks and even movie theaters. One perk of Fever is that when you buy tickets on their platform, you get credits that you can save up to go towards future tickets.

Limited Multi-Experience Passes

These passes give you access to multiple experiences for one discounted prices. They’re great if you’re visiting a city and want to hit up all the main attractions, or take a weekend to explore multiple places in your own city.

CityPASS

With CityPASS, get access to one main attraction, usually a theme park, and choose 3 other attractions from a list. For example, the Los Angeles CityPASS gives you access to Universal Studios, and you can pick from zoos and major museums as your 3 other choices.

Go City

Go City gives you access to multiple attractions, and has two types of passes available. With the Explorer Pass, you can pick a number of experiences you want (2-7), and you’ll have 60 days to use the tickets. You can pick any ones you want to go to from their list. This is ideal for exploring your own city, or if you will be somewhere for an extended amount of time. With their All-Inclusive Pass, you select how many days you have to use the tickets (2-7), and you can visit as many experiences as you want from their list within that time frame. This is great if you are visiting a city for a few days to a week and want to hit up as many sights as possible.

One-Year Multi-Attraction Pass

These passes act like annual memberships. For one year, you can visit any of the attractions on their list once, and they have fairly long lists. It’s a great way to try new things that you typically wouldn’t do.

GetOutPass

With GetOutPass, you have access to dozens of activities with your region for one year. For the Southern California Regional Pass, you can visit places like small theme parks, museums, trampoline parks, play spaces, and arcades.

Which attraction pass you want to use will largely depend on the places you want to visit. We would suggest visiting each of these platforms to browse the experiences they have available in your city (or the city you’re travelling to) and see which pass has the attractions you like. Whichever one you choose, they are all discounted rates and would save you money than if you bought tickets to each place separately.
